Missing Dog Alert…
Hello, everyone. We’ve received a request for help from Ms. Ann Antonietta in hopes of assisting her in finding her dog, Gracie. We’d greatly appreciate it if you would please keep a lookout for her. Please click the picture to the right for a larger view. We’ve also included the flyer.
Ms. Antonietta sent us the following regarding a gathering this Saturday to help distribute a flyer in search for Gracie:
“This Saturday Mar 22nd beginning at 9am I am trying to organize a mass group of people together to help distribute flyers door to door to help find my dog Gracie who has been missing since Sunday evening. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I live at 4514 Kensington Ave. You can just show up at anytime or call me at 475-1877 to let me know you can help. I may also be reached at Ann.Antonietta@pmusa.com or AnnAntonietta7517@comcast.net. Breakfast will be provided.
I ask to please forward to this anyone.
Thank you all for your support and prayers that you have sent my way.”
Further details:
“My dog Gracie is missing. She is a 10 year old Husky-Shepherd mix. She is very friendly. I moved into a new house ion the 4500 block of Kensington Ave on Sunday and Gracie got out of my fence Sunday evening and has not returned. I have posted flyers, gone back to my old neighborhood, been to the Richmond and Henrico pounds, SPCA, posted in the newspaper, have it on the radio, on Craig’s list and other websites, have put flyers in mailboxes of my neighborhood. I have not had any leads to her whereabouts. Gracie has her collar on with her id tags and she is micro chipped.
I ask you to PLEASE circulate this flyer to anyone to get the word out. If you would, please tape it to your car. I just want more visibility. I am offering a $1000 reward.
I am desperate to find Gracie and ask for any help or advice you can offer.”
Thanks much for any assistance anyone might offer.
Regards,
Kory Mohr & Jonah Holland

Blog Post about UR’s New Football Coach
We also came across this excellent commentary, courtesy of P Keip’s Hype, concerning University of Richmond’s new football coach, Mike London. Keip mentions everything from London’s background in hailing from Hampton, Virginia to his years as a defensive back at UR to the upcoming new stadium and how London will use his NFL experience to put the Spiders ahead of their competitors.
Mike London wasn’t going to stay at the University of Virginia forever. In fact, his second stint in Charlottesville was more like a nice addition to a resume University of Richmond Athletic Director Jim Miller wanted to get his hands on (again)

Sierra Club Comments on UR Green Initiative
We came across an entry on the Sierra Club Falls of the James (SCFOJ) blog that highlights University of Richmond President Edward L. Ayers commitment to sharply reduce and eventually eliminate all of the university’s global and warming emissions.
Under the agreement, the university will create a comprehensive institutional action plan to move toward climate neutrality. Ayers noted a number of new and ongoing efforts on campus to build on the university’s commitment to sustainability, including the installation last summer of laundry equipment in residence halls that will save a million gallons of water a year, use of biodiesel in campus transportation equipment and a plan to switch to a more efficient heating system in student apartments.

UR Students in Court over Underage Drinking Party
Can we get an “oops” on the behalf of a group of University of Richmond students that were in court, according to an article from the Times-Dispatch.
Must have been one shindig of a party with over 35 arrests and dozens more people involved. Sure, we all need to blow off a little steam but, wow, did they really think they wouldn’t get caught with that many people involved? Like I said: “oops.”
Love the quote the judge said. My sentiments exactly.
General District Judge Archer L. Yeatts III, whose father was state Alcoholic Beverage Control commissioner, told more than a dozen students appearing before him Monday that “You all aren’t as smart as I thought you were.”
And throwing the party a month after two fraternity officers were charged with helping an underage student get alcohol defies logic, the judge said.

UR Gains a Wide Receiver
According to an article from the Times-Dispatch, the University of Richmond has gained Harry Lee Daniel, a Highland Springs senior, via a verbal commitment.
Daniel was a key offensive element for the Springers, who were 10-0 in the regular season. Highland Springs was No. 1 in The Times-Dispatch Poll and was ranked No. 5 in the final Associated Press poll before being eliminated by Hermitage 21-20 in the Central Region playoffs.
