Huguenot Bridge delays on Monday

Delays of up to 15 minutes crossing the Huguenot Bridge tomorrow (Monday 9/24) between 10am and 3pm:

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, September 24, flaggers will alternate one lane of traffic over the Huguenot Bridge to allow workers to install bridge piles and remove existing sheet piles as part of the bridge reconstruction project, weather permitting. Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

To avoid delays, drivers are encouraged to use the following alternate routes:

Northbound Huguenot Road – Chippenham Parkway (Route 150) north over the Willey Bridge to River Road east to Huguenot Road or use Powhite Parkway (toll) east into Richmond
Southbound Huguenot Road – River Road west to Chippenham Parkway (Route 150) south to Huguenot Road

Should there be additional pile work needed, the contractor is permitted to continue this work on Tuesday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. using the same traffic control. VDOT will issue an updated traffic alert if additional work is needed.
