Elephant’s Toe Antiques, currently located in the Libbie and Grove corridor at 5808 Grove Ave., is moving to a new home on West Broad Street in the newly launched “Galleria on Broad.” (7800 W. Broad Street) Inventory is currently 30 to 40% off in preparation for the move.
Per owner Jim Strickland, “The rent was too expensive at Libbie and Grove, and you can get three times the space out on West Broad for less.” (RichmondBizSense.com “Old Stuff, new space”)
Elephant’s Toe will occupy up to half of the Galleria’s 50,000-square-foot building, which most recently housed furniture store Bargain Depot. The rest of the space will be sublet to other businesses, including an art gallery and SPCA consignment store.
Elephant’s Toe Antiques expanded to its current Grove Ave location from Carytown in 2008, and back then business was booming.
