Hit and run driver comes forward

Elias Webb has admitted to fatally hitting Lanie Kruszewski with his car on River Road and then leaving the scene. Kruszewski was riding her bike when she was struck at about 10:20 PM.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Prosecutors plan to ask a grand jury Monday to indict the suspect, Elias Steven Webb, 30, on a felony hit-and-run charge in the death of Lanie Kruszewski, who was struck late Sunday night while riding her bicycle along River Road between Huguenot Road and Three Chopt Road.

Police have stated they believe Kruszewski’s bicycle had a working headlight and rear light.

An attorney for Webb, an advertising salesman at the Richmond Times-Dispatch, claims that his client did not know he had struck Kruszewski with his 2004 Dodge Durango, and that he was not intoxicated while driving. Webb has expressed remorse to Kruszewski’s family over the incident.
