The Henrico County office of the Virginia Cooperative Extension will host a free workshop Saturday, July 28 on common food allergies, with information on how to recognize and control an allergic reaction.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Extension Office of the Human Services Building, 8600 Dixon Powers Drive.
The session, co-sponsored by the city of Richmond’s Extension office, will provide an overview of the eight major food allergens and explain how to read food labels and identify hidden allergens. Participants also will learn how to treat an allergic reaction with an EpiPen auto-injector and receive tips on managing food allergies at home, in schools and in child care centers.
