Wanted: HandsOn Greater Richmond Volunteers for Oct. 16
OnĀ Saturday, October 16th, HandsOn Greater Richmond will host the third annual HandsOn Day. During this volunteer event, 1,000 local citizens will transform our community by volunteering at one of over 40 non-profits, city parks, and schools. Projects include park clean-up and restoration, housing rehab for elderly citizens, arts and crafts with children, and more.
In the Near West End, HandsOn Greater Richmond is looking for volunteers at:
J.R. Tucker High School Tiger Refresh Day (Family Friendly):
The staff of John Randolph Tucker High School is committed to helping each student become a productive, responsible citizen. Tucker High is a campus-style school and needs sprucing up! Volunteers will break into pairs to beautify the 50 year old high school. This project will help foster school spirit, a sense of community, and pride in the education the students are receiving.
Specific Tasks:
- Paint classroom doors, outdoor canopy poles, and walls.
Please note: HandsOn Day will start with a Kick Off Celebration at Richmond International Raceway.
Minimum age to volunteer: 14
