Libbie Market Announces ….Donuts are Back and New Sunday Brunch!
Fans of Libbie Market (formerly Joe’s Market) may be interested in this update that owner, Dave Taylor, sent to the Facebook Fans of the small Near West End neighborhood market:
Hello Libbie Market facebook fans. Here is a quick update on what’s happening at Libbie Market. We are beginning the process of re-merchandising our store and you will see a transformation over the next two weeks (please pardon our mess!). Our meat department is fully converted to “Certified Angus” and “Prime” beef. Beginning Monday March 1st we will have weekly meat specials. This week’s lead item is New York Strip Steaks for $6.99/Lb. As well, (drum roll)…donuts are back at Libbie Market. Krispy Kreme donuts are now available 7 days a week. Did I forget to tell you, we are also open Sundays, so be sure to come in and check-out our fabulous Sunday Brunch. More to come later, thanks for all of your support.
David.

I was in today and I must say the place is very disappointing. They seem to be taking away everything that made Joe’s special and charming. The truth is, if I want giant size packages of bottled water or twenty rolls of toilet paper, I can go to a big box market and find a larger variety for a cheaper price. What made Joe’s special was the emphasis on fine products. And that I fear is gone.
Great, donuts I can buy somewhere (everywhere) else. For a moment I actually thought it would be something fresh/local. Seems like everything cool about Joe’s died with the name. Can’t see this place lasting long. Unfortunate.
Ugh! Thanks for the warning. As if we didn’t already have enough disappointment when Ukrop’s was replaced by trashy, WalMart-wannabe Martin’s. What’s next–Fresh Market becoming a dollar store?
just when i thought the west end was getting a bit more local… shame.
anyone know why this house was demolished? i don’t think much public notice was given…
… and that comment was meant for something else.. :)
I love your store!
