“HOLDING HISTORY IN YOUR HANDS”
ARTIFACTS FROM LUMPKIN’S JAIL
The Black History Museum, the Richmond Slave Trail Commission, and the James River Institute for Archaeology (JRIA) will collaborate to offer the public an opportunity to hold history in their hands. You are invited to help wash, tag, and document materials retrieved from the excavation of the Lumpkin’s Jail site in Shockoe Bottom on Saturday, September 19th.
