Update on Friends of Black Dog and A Special T-Shirt

Here’s a message I received on my Friends of Black Dog group on Facebook. Thought it would interest you all:

The original “Friends of Black Dog” who since 2001 helped save him from Richmond Animal Control, designed and sold “Save Black Dog” T-Shirts in 2002 and have maintained his bank account to be used for his medical expenses if needed. After Black Dog’s death caused by a hit and run driver on Cary Street Road, the original group buried him at an undisclosed location in Buckingham County. The T-Shirts have been seen far and wide and sales have continued through the years. The Friends of Black Dog will be coming out with a new T-Shirt within the next week that will be sold in front of the Grove Avenue Pharmacy and other locations to be announced. Black Dog currently has about $1,000 in his account which along with proceeds from the new T-Shirt sale will be donated to “ASK Pediatric Oncology Clinic” at the VCU Medical Center. Knowing that Black Dog was all about Freedom and Children, we have joined the two and will make this donation in an effort to help free Children from cancer. Watch for more details to come very soon on CBS News Channel 6 and The Richmond Times Dispatch.
