When I started the Mary Munford Elementary School Facebook page earlier this year, I didn’t realize I’d be setting a trend for Richmond Public Schools to do the same!

Ok, so I’m no trend setter.  But, I’m very happy to see Richmond Public Schools is now on Facebook and Twitter.  I know the Munford page has helped me feel more connected to the school community there. The Munford webpage is nice, but it’s pretty static.  It’s nice to see RPS be nimble, willing to try new things, and embrace change. Those are all great signs!

Can they also, make there posts/Tweets interesting, informative, and have personality? Personally, I’m looking to engage if I use Twitter or Facebook, so I hope they don’t just keep posting links to their new enewsletter.  I hope they are on TweetDeck, listening to what parents and prospective parents are saying about Richmond Public Schools and responding to them.
