West End Farmers Market Opens This Saturday, April 25th
2 Comments »I usually don’t cover things this far into the West End, but with the surge of popularity of farmers markets and the mention of the new market at St. Stephen’s Church, I thought you’d like to know about this one, in case you happen to be out this way.
The new West End Farmer’s Market is located at the intersection of Gayton Rd & Ridgefield Parkway and is open Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 am to noon.
The market will feature truckloads of locally grown fruits and vegetables, flower bunches, bedding plants, hanging baskets, herbs, organic meat, cheese, and eggs all arriving straight from the farm each market day. You’ll also find fresh seafood, home-made pasta, baked goods, breads, jams and honey. Each week you’ll discover a great selection of local artwork including handmade candles, jewelry, original oil paintings, and organic soaps.
Come out to support your local farmers and take advantage of the huge selection of certified organic products and affordable prices. Go GREEN and keep the money in your community!
Parents won’t want to miss the FREE weekly kids activities and educational Healthy Kids Program held every Wednesday at 10:00 am featuring lessons about farming methods, eating healthy, and caring for our Planet. Romp-N-Roll will be there on opening day (April 25th) to help us kick off our fun kids program……don’t miss out because it won’t cost a penny!

Somewhat disappointed in the new venue: originally I was under the impression it was to be a “farmers – ie. producers – market. Granted it is very early in the growing season but artisans outnumbered growers and the seafood was nothing but Tuckahoe Seafood with aq table and bread was Montana Gold.
Nothing worth another visit but will be interested in checking out St Stephen’s this weekend as it much closer.
