Will Tim Sign Bill 242 ?

The Sportsbackers have been keeping us posted on a very important bill for our kids. Maybe I’m missing something but, this is big, why isn’t anyone covering it? Aside from the Sportsbackers, a blog in Harrisonburg is the only other coverage I’ve seen.

Let’s cross our fingers that Kaine signs the bill. Considering he is a bicyclist, member of the Richmond Area Bicycling Association, and seems to understand the value of exercise my guess is he will.

Good news for our children!
Thanks to the efforts of many of you in contacting your local legislators, Virginia’s children are moving towards more physical activity during the school day.

Delegate John O’Bannon introduced the bill to the House of Delegates and it passed in the House on February 11th. On Tuesday, March 4th, the state Senate of Virginia unanimously voted to pass House Bill 242 with a vote of 40-0. Now that it has passed in the Senate, it will be sent to Governor Kaine for his approval.
