Ukrops Westpark Evacutated
A Ukrop’s grocery store in western Henrico County has been evacuated and authorities are investigating a suspicious package.
At about 5:30 p.m., a bomb squad was preparing to X-ray the package outside the store at West Broad Street and Pemberton Road, said Lt. Gary Hutchison, a spokesman for the Henrico Division of Fire.
He described the package as a book or duffel bag that was left near a trash can at the entrance to the grocery store’s cafe.
The store was evacuated after a manager at Ukrop’s reported the suspicious package at about 3:30 p.m.
