City of Richmond Offers Summer Programs for Kids

The City of Richmond offers a great summer program to children age 6-12. The program is offered at your local Richmond Parks and Recs community center — which in our case would be Mary Munford Elementary School or Westhampton Community Center.
Registration is at 6:30 p.m. on April 16th on site — except, at Mary Munford the registration will happen at the Byrd Park Round House. A little bird told me that if you arrive at 6:30 it will be too late….so arrive early and plan to stand in line for this great opportunity.
The program runs June 23 to August 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $190 for the entire summer. The program is open to city residents only. They try to maintain at 1:18 adult child ratio. The program also includes free breakfast and lunch. For more information you can call Joe News at 646-1085.
I should mention that Humphrey Calder is the only community center not participating in this program. They have a separate program co-sponsored by the Police Athletic Association. Humphrey Calder Registration is going on now, contact 646-1780 for more information.
