A scavenger hunt, an obstacle course and moonbounces are just a few of the activities planned for the annual “Trick-or-Treat Street” Halloween event at University of Richmond Oct. 27, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Other attractions include a haunted house, dunk tank with UR students, petting zoo, straw maze, clowns, magicians, games and a costume contest. Sponsored by the university’s fraternities and sororities, the event is held on Fraternity Row across from the Robins Center off of College Road.

Admission is $10 per child and free for adults. The organizations hope to attract 500 children and raise up to $3,000. Proceeds will benefit Chattering Children, a local nonprofit center specializing in a spoken language program for children with hearing loss.

“This event is something we look forward to every year, because no matter how old or young you are, you are bound to have fun,” says Katie Jones, chair of the event and a Richmond senior from Morristown, N.J. “As the sponsors, we have fun too, and at the same time, we’re raising money for a very good cause.”
