Silver Diner Comes to West End
Having grown up in Northern Virginia, I’ve had a few experiences with Silver Diner. And although I’m not a huge fan of chains, I am really happy that this mini-chain (located in Rockville, Md.) is coming to Innsbrook (at the northeast corner of Cox and W. Broad.)
River City Diner has been disappointing me for quite some time. I’m just not a Cracker Barrel girl and Boychicks just doesn’t suit me either. We are not talking Denny’s here. We are talking a really cool atmosphere that is extremely kid friendly and hip. And best of all, they have great food and even better service. Now, we just have to hold off on the pancakes until they open.

An update from Silver Diner HQ says they are shooting for a Summer 2008 completion date.
My wife and I ate at the Dale City one this weekend on the way home from the ‘Skins game. Glad to see that they’ll be coming further south!
[...] We first wrote about the Silver Diner coming to Richmond last October. Here’s an update on the opening date from today’s Times-Dispatch: A staple in Northern Virginia and Maryland, the trademark cylinder-shaped restaurant will make its Richmond debut in mid-October at the corner of Cox Road and Broad Street in western Henrico County. I am so thrilled there is a Silver Diner in Richmond. I used to go all the time in Northern VA for breakfast and I am so glad to see Richmond growing from its usual restaurants. Support this joint, you will like their food and service too!!!!!
[...] because if you live in the Near West End, sooner or later, you’ll want to check it out. Originally we had posted a Summer 2008 opening date, now it looks like it will open in November. They’ve held several job fairs in September, [...]
I LIVE AND WORK NEAR THE NEW INNSBROOK LOCATION. DO YOU DO OFFER ANY KIND OF
BIRTHDAY SPECIALS ETC.? A GROUP OF US PLAN TO GO THERE 12/5 FOR MY 53RD B-DAY.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT? NONE OF US HAVE BEEN
THERE BEFORE. THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK
This place sucks.. has to be the worst Diner Food I’ve ever had.
Pity because the place is cool, and staff are very friendly! All I’ve heard was “iffy” and bad comments about the food. I agree… was there yesterday, and I’d give food about 3.5 out of 10.. That’s generous!
I was out there the other day and discovered how the Silver Diner has totally “greased up” the area with the smell of grease in the air. Growing up near the metal diners in the Northeast, I’m used to their usually very friendly staffs and wide selections but the aroma generated from that place is very overpowering.
I agree with kory. I was directly across the street at starbucks and, as I parked and exited the car, I said, “what smells like bad french toast?” It was nine o’clock in the evening and the scent was very strong. If I were a resident of that neighborhood, I would not be happy!
