University of Richmond Voted “Expensive”

Campus Grotto just published a list of the most expensive colleges and universities in the nation. University of Richmond came in at no. 3! With tuition costing a whopping $37,610 this year.
Which leads me to mention another recent story from the NorthJersey.com website that explains exactly why students (and I don’t know why but especially students from New Jersey and Pennsylvania) love this college. Apparently, it just looks like what kids dream of a college looking like.

The University of Richmond was a possibility, but not at the top of Jake Mauriello’s list for colleges — until he and his parents visited the campus in August and saw what they could not find online or in brochures.

“The physical beauty of the layout was exactly what my son had in mind of what he wanted a college to look like,” said Jake’s mother, Betina.

I’m sure the strong academics don’t hurt either. And maybe folks from the North are used to paying a lot for everything they buy.

Finally, in the UR roundup, NBC 12 reports that by 2010 UofR will be playing football on its own campus. This just makes me wonder what they will do with the old stadium? Maybe West of the Boulevard News has the answer to that…
