McDonnell Brings “Project SafetyNet VA” Internet Safety Awareness Campaign to Richmond Area Tomorrow

Attorney General will Read Internet Safety Book to Second Graders, and speak to Fifth Graders, in Henrico -Internet Safety Presentations at Four Area Schools Also Scheduled
Attorney General Bob McDonnell will bring his “Project SafetyNet VA” Internet safety awareness effort to the Richmond area tomorrow, Thursday September 20th.
The Attorney General will read “Faux Paw’s Adventures in the Internet”, to second graders at Tuckahoe Elementary School in Henrico at 10:15a.m.
The book, which teaches students basic lessons about staying safe online, is being distributed to every public and private elementary school in the state. Prior to the reading the Attorney General will stop by a fifth grade classroom at the school to speak with the students about Internet safety and answer questions.
In addition to McDonnell’s reading at Tuckahoe Elementary, the day will also feature “SafetyNet” presentations on Internet safety by Office of the Attorney General staff at four local schools. These presentations teach students, teachers and parents how to stay safe online. All members of the press are invited and encouraged to attend these “Project SafetyNet VA” Internet safety awareness events, part of the Attorney General’s September focus on online safety.
