UR Spiders Sports Notes
Busy week for the University of Richmond’s various sports programs [via]:
Arman Shields, Richmond’s all-conference wide receiver, was expected to miss at least a couple of weeks because of a sprained left knee sustained in Saturday’s 49-14 romp over Northeastern in a Colonial Athletic Association opener. But the senior may be sidelined considerably longer than that when the results of Monday’s MRI are finalized.
The Spiders will use the open week to recover from nicks and bruises sustained in the first two games and move some players into different positions in the wake of injuries.
Tailback Tim Hightower, who rushed for 246 yards against Northeastern, is ranked fourth nationally in rushing, averaging 159.5 ypg. As a team, the Spiders rank sixth with 296 per game. Rogers is No.4 in kickoff returns, averaging 37.8 per return.
